BCAC athletes were well-represented at 2016 OFSAA Track and Field Championships held at the University of Windsor from June 3 - 5. Amari Jones led the way earning two bronze medals, one in the senior boys triple jump (13.95 m) and the other in the senior boys long jump (6.78 m). Newcomer to the high school scene, Karlie Moore continued her stellar season with a bronze medal in the midget girls 300mh (44.41) and a 6th place finish in the midget girls 80mh (12.30). Jasmine Scott-Kilgo continues to impress in her second year at the high school level. She earned a bronze medal in the junior girls 80mh with a time of 12.28 and was 4th in the junior girls long jump (5.25 m). First year senior Jada Jackson came through with some excellent performances in the highly competitive 100 and 200m races. She finished 6h in the senior girls 100m (12.21) and 8th in the senior girls 200m (25.24). Jerriah Kelly and Dallas Akins also had good performances to end their high school seasons. Jerriah was 5th in the midget girls 300mh hurdles (46.03) and Dallas was 6th in the senior boys high jump (1.85 m). None of these accomplishments would be possible without the hard work, commitment and dedication of the many high school and club coaches of these young athletes. Congratulations and a big thank you to Coaches Rob, Andrew and Rebekah and the rest of the (Sandwich S.S.) Staff, Coach Poole (Holy Names S.S.) and Coach Des (Maranatha Christian Academy).
